Based on Royal Deeside Lisa creates vibrant contemporary pieces of art, working on fine linen board, plywood panels and aluminium. Painting landscapes and seascapes, she strives to capture natures beauty by balancing hues and manipulating brushstrokes, creating light and depth by exposing the layers beneath, until the image emerges.
Lisa is drawn to the sea in particular. Taking her inspiration from the stunning Outer Hebrides and West Coast of Scotland, the dramatic seas, islands and beaches inform her work and provide a reference for her colourful portrayals of these stunning locations.
Working only in oils, she uses thin layers of paint to gradually create depth and definition with a particular interest in tidal marks and water reflections; striving to capture a sense of calm within her pieces
